After several successful seasons of ski guiding and avalanche forecasting in Hokkaido Japan, we are excited to return with groups of four people for week-long ski trips. These one of a kind Japanese Alps ski packages will explore the best snow in the best places, off the beaten path led by AMGA Ski & Splitboard Guides. Whether it's lift-served backcountry, ski and splitboard touring, or ski mountaineering, this is an opportunity you don't want to miss.

Our beautiful accommodations are centrally located, just a short drive from the lifts. From here, we'll ski at the local area and other zones within an hour's drive. Enjoy dinners at nearby restaurants, shop at the amazing food co-op, and relax in the onsen surrounding the town.

Unique 2027 Offering: Overnight Ski Traverse

Experience our carefully crafted overnight ski traverse, a unique offering for 2027. This overnight trip takes you from ski village to ski village, staying in traditional Japanese Ryokans. Carry only a day pack, a change of clothes, and lunch—no tents or sleeping bags required. This is sure to be a highlight of your Japanese ski trip. This adventure is weather, conditions, and ability dependent.

Small Group Size for a Personalized Experience

We maintain a lower ratio of guests to ski guides with group sizes limited to four people plus a ski guide. This is how to ski the Alps. Lodging is based on double occupancy and includes all nights of the trip, from the night before we start to the night the trip ends, allowing time to relax before and after without the hassle of shuffling luggage and gear.

 

Itinerary

  • Day 1: Arrive in Tokyo or Nozawa and either take the Shinkansen or drive in our 4x4 luxury van to accommodations.
  • Day 2-6: Spend 6 full days skiing and riding the best snow in the Nagano, Mikuni, Joshinetsukogen Ranges accompanied by great food and relaxing onsen.
  • Day 7: Drive back to Tokyo in our luxury 4x4 van.
