The Forbidden Ski Tour is a classic 3- to 4-day North Cascades ski traverse that travels through dramatic alpine terrain around Forbidden Peak and Eldorado Peak. This trip is best for advanced to expert skiers and splitboarders who want a remote ski mountaineering objective with big views, overnight camping, and long descents.

Over the course of the tour, the group moves from forested approaches into high alpine basins, crosses multiple mountain zones, and links scenic camps with classic North Cascades ski terrain. The route may include the Forbidden area, Inspiration area, Eldorado Peak, and other terrain options based on group ability, weather, and conditions.

Client to Guide Ratios:

  • 4:1 Ratio: Maximum of 4 spaces available per guide.
  • Prices: Based on a minimum of 2 participants

Itinerary

Day 1: Approach to High Camp

  • Begin the tour by ascending through forest and subalpine terrain toward the first alpine camp.
  • Take in expansive views of the North Cascades and prepare for the multi-day traverse ahead.

Day 2: Alpine Traverse and Descent

  • Travel through dramatic high alpine terrain and link classic North Cascades ski zones.
  • Ski a highlight descent toward the next camp when conditions allow.

Day 3: Inspiration and Eldorado Zone

  • Continue through the Inspiration and Eldorado area with route options based on the group and conditions.
  • For a 3-day itinerary, the group may complete the route and descend back toward the trailhead.

Day 4: Optional Final Descent

  • On a 4-day itinerary, enjoy an additional high-alpine objective before returning to the trailhead.
