Exploring Valdez and Thompson Pass:
During your week seize the opportunity to ski iconic descents such as the Python, Berlin Wall, Acupulco, and couloirs along the Stairway. These iconic backciuntry ski runs are nestled alongside the picturesque Richardson Highway, offering breathtaking views of the Chugach Mountains. Whether your skiing dreams seek steep ramps and couloirs or prefer the serenity of cruising down long runs like the Worthington Glacier, Valdez, is a haven for ski mountaineers but still caters to enthusiasts of all skill levels. Weather permitting, we even offer the option to elevate your ski touring experience with heli assisted touring and skiing. And when weather conditions shut down the helicopters and airplanes we'll expertly navigate terrain from the Port of Valdez to Tonsina.

During your 8 night stay in Valdez, you'll have ample time to savor every moment and immerse yourself in the frozen ice of Bridal Veil Falls in Keystone Canyon, the flowing Valdez Glacier, and the tidewater sea life in Prince William Sound that exemplify this remarkable region.

This trip is best for advanced skiers and splitboarders with strong touring fitness, solid downhill ability in variable snow, and the stamina for 7 ski days in a row. Guests should be prepared for daily objectives that may include 3,000 to 6,000 vertical feet of touring.
The trip is based in Valdez, Alaska, with skiing near Thompson Pass, the Richardson Highway corridor, Worthington Glacier, and surrounding Chugach terrain. Daily zones are selected based on weather, snow conditions, access, and group goals.
The package includes 8 nights of lodging, round-trip transportation from Anchorage to Valdez, local transportation during the trip, breakfasts, guides, and one weather-dependent heli bump. Lunches, dinners, flights, and gratuities are not included.
This is primarily a guided ski touring and splitboard touring trip with the possibility of a weather-dependent heli bump. The guides keep the itinerary flexible and can adjust plans when weather affects aircraft or road-accessed skiing.
Guests stay in Valdez at the Harbor Inn in double-occupancy rooms, with breakfast each morning before heading into the mountains.
