The Intro to Cragging course covers the foundational skills necessary for safely leading single-pitch sport climbs, including clipping and cleaning quickdraws, building and cleaning anchors, and more. Our experienced guides will provide a progression of techniques, allowing participants to apply their new skills in a closely supervised setting. By the end of the course, you'll have the confidence and skills needed to start leading climbs at your local crags.

Do I need outdoor climbing experience before this course?
No extensive outdoor experience is required. Basic climbing fitness, comfort tying in with a figure 8 follow through, and some indoor climbing experience such as top rope belay are helpful. The course is built to bridge the gap between gym climbing and outdoor single-pitch sport climbing.
What gear do I need for Intro to Cragging?
Bring personal climbing shoes, a harness, helmet, belay device, approach shoes or sturdy footwear, comfortable athletic layers, water, lunch, and sun protection and a 35L backpack. Your guide will confirm any required technical equipment before the course and help coordinate group gear.
