About Guided Exposure

Guided Exposure was founded to inspire individuals to challenge themselves, to progress, and to succeed in the most spectacular mountain environments. We offer splitboarding, ski touring, AIARE Avalanche Courses, rock climbing, and mountaineering courses and trips. Each of our trips and courses have been carefully crafted to gradually introduce new skills, develop your ability, and apply a climbing mindset while instilling our love of lofty exposed peaks or riding down them.

Jess Trimble

Jess grew up snowboarding on the East Coast and moved to Washington a decade ago, drawn by her love of public lands and curiosity for big mountain snowboarding. Moving to the Stevens Pass area, she began working seasonally for the Forest Service while honing her splitboarding skills, learning avalanche safety, and exploring the Cascades.

Her passion for splitboarding has taken her to incredible places like Japan and Alaska. Along the way, she recognized the lack of female representation in splitboarding, guiding, and avalanche education, and committed to helping change that for other women starting their backcountry journeys. Since 2022, she has been teaching avalanche courses, empowering women to navigate the backcountry with confidence. Now based in Glacier, WA, Jess calls the Mount Baker area home and hopes to become an AIARE course leader and pursue AMGA certification. When not snowboarding, Jess can be found surfing, biking, or hanging with her two cats.
